Baby Lakers Edge Past Crush, 3-2
|
Bompton Baby Lakers starter Jason O'Rourke turned in a top-notch performance against the Flint Crush at Flint Park. The result was a win for the Baby Lakers, 3-2. Norberto González closed the game out for Bompton, earning his 3rd save. The win brings the Baby Lakers to 9-6, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
Bompton used the timely hitting of Peer Koldijk to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Baby Lakers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Koldijk said his team "played with determination."
