The Quebec City Baby Blues got a strong performance from pitcher Jeff Vázquez, who stymied the Hudsonville offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Hudsonville Park. Edgard Mendoza earned the save for Quebec City, his 16th of the year. The Baby Blues, at 43-41, sit in 5th place in the Premier Low A.
The Baby Blues got an important contribution from right fielder Sasha Mamchenko, who in the top of the third hit a full count fastball into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Baby Blues ahead, 2-0.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Quebec City manager Seth Rice. "Our pregame was pretty good."
