Costa Stars for Hounds in 8-5 Win
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Germantown Uruguayans home opener. Gerardo Pimentel started for the home team against Jorge Vázquez for the Hicksville Hounds. The Uruguayans were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 8-5, Hicksville. Jorge Costa, though, was impressive.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Mark MacGrewar? The Hicksville center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Hounds on top, 2-1. For the game, MacGrewar had 2 doubles and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Hicksville manager Oliver Burrell.
