Redwood took on Tulsa in front of a lively crowd.
Redwood Rhinos starter Erik Hayden turned in an exceptional performance against the Tulsa Otters at The Zoo, resulting in a Redwood win, 10-1. Hayden got the win, improving to 2-5. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 5 innings. Hayden allowed 1 run. Wu-jiang Louis collected his 2nd save.
The Otters had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Rhinos going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old catcher Fred Christensen came to the plate. Christensen hit a bases-clearing double on a 2-0 cutter from Tulsa hurler Cheng-qian Yue. It was Christensen's 2nd double of the year.
"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Hayden told the Redwood Today.
Redwood is in 5th place in the Premier Low A with a record of 20-21.
