Big Day for D'antonio in 4-3 Tula Win
|
In the 4-3 Chicago win over Myrtle Beach, the impact of Benedito D'antonio was substantial. D'antonio, who is tied for 2nd in the PA in stolen bases with 27, went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Jasny Buzek notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. Fatin bin Isra'il recorded his 4th save for Chicago.
Chicago used the timely hitting of Jae-woo Yi to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tula on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
D'antonio told the Chicago Daily News: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
With the victory, the Tula record now stands at 36-46.
