Rhinos Earn 3-2 Win Versus Otters
|
In a low-scoring clash between Redwood and Tulsa, pitcher Bill Richardson was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 win. The winner was Redwood reliever Bob Powell, now 1-0. The loser was Eugene Pearce. The 5th-place Rhinos improved to 19-21.
Lense Bekema was the walk-off hero for Redwood. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rhinos second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Richardson said.
