A good performance from left fielder Qui-li Jin helped the Beaumont Crossbeaus defeat the Redwood Rhinos, 7-4. Jin went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Crossbeaus. Beaumont pitcher Ricardo Romo got the win, upping his record to 2-3. Erik Hayden got the loss. Casey Parsons earned the save for Beaumont, his 10th of the year.

Beaumont shortstop Bartolo Hernández contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a changeup into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 24th hit of the season and put the Crossbeaus ahead, 5-1.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Hernández.

The 7th-place Crossbeaus go to 16-19.
