Laredo second baseman Rick McCarthy had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to South Beach at The Ballpark on the Beach. McCarthy slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Gustavo Carrillo, now 2-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. South Beach has a record of 44-34, placing them second in the Premier A.

The clutch hit was provided by Emílio Fuentes. He delivered a walk-off run-scoring single off Kelsey Conrad in the bottom of the 12th.
