The Myrtle Beach Seahawks beat the Eugene Vandals, 5-4, at Seahwaks Stadium. Myrtle Beach center fielder Gage Jump had an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Todd Gould picked up the save for Myrtle Beach, his 4th of the year. The win puts Myrtle Beach at 43-32 this season.
In the bottom of the eighth, Myrtle Beach third baseman Eric Fisher hit a two-strike cutter to center field for a run-scoring single. It put the Seahawks up, 5-4.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Fisher told the Myrtle Beach Observer.
