Wright Lifts Crossbeaus to 10-9 Win
The Beaumont Crossbeaus turned back the Quebec City Baby Blues, 10-9, at Dylan Park. Leon Wright, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Beaumont reliever Alfredo Ramos picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Dave Ashley shouldered the loss. Beaumont is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 4th win in 15 games.

In the top of the sixth, Beaumont designated hitter Kieron Mandala put his team on top. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 4th home run of the year. Quebec City pitcher Dave Ashley served it up. Just like that, the Crossbeaus were ahead, 9-7.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Mandala said.
