6 Straight Wins for Harbor Whales
|
The Greenport Harbor Whales topped the Redwood Rhinos, 7-4, in USPL Low A action at The Zoo. The standout performance belonged to Greenport pitcher and Morón, Venezuela, native Juan Salazar. Edgar García finished the game for Greenport and earned his 2nd save. The Harbor Whales, now 9-3, have played inspired baseball.
Greenport used a well-timed hit by Willie Davidson to capture the win. The third baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Harbor Whales ahead, 5-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Greenport manager Fernando Mendoza.
