Sandoval, Idaho Falls Top Chiefs, 5-0
|
Pitcher Carlos Sandoval was sensational for the Idaho Falls Chukars in his team's 5-0 triumph over the Caldwell Chiefs. Sandoval picked up the win, and it was well-earned. The 6th-place Chukars sport a record of 32-29.
Sandoval, a native of Corredor, Costa Rica, was dealing all game. He kept Caldwell hitters off-balance, while giving the Chukars 7.1 quality innings. Sandoval threw 106 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 8.
"We played hard and won," said Sandoval. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
