Harbor Whales Walk Off with 8-7 Win

Both teams had their chances, but the Greenport Harbor Whales eventually prevailed.
The Greenport Harbor Whales defeated the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 8-7, at Ballpark of Robbins. Colm Reyes was a standout performer for Greenport. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double, in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Greenport reliever Esteban Ocon picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Casey Parsons was saddled with the loss.
Jerrel van Katwijk was the walk-off hero for Greenport. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Harbor Whales pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place was electric at the end," van Katwijk said.
With the win, Greenport goes to 3-0.
