The Quebec City Baby Blues got a stellar effort from pitcher Shawn Walker, helping Quebec City score a win over the visiting Athletic Club KC U-21, 3-2. Walker, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 5 walks. Edgard Mendoza was credited with the save for Quebec City, his 1st of the season.
Jon Melanson, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2045 draft, aided the Quebec City cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3 with a walk.
After the game, Quebec City manager Seth Rice applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
