The home crowd had a good time watching the Lake Erie Arryns and Yucca Valley Yellows get after it.
Lane Stewart was superb against Lake Erie. The right-hander had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Yellows victory. The score was 7-3. Stewart, now 4-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs. David Ferguson nailed down his 1st save.
Raúl Hernández swatted a 3-run home run for Yucca Valley in the bottom of the fifth. The right fielder went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 3.
"Lane was throwing strikes, locating well," said Yucca Valley manager Pat Carrasco.
The third-place Yellows have won 5 in a row.
