Blanchard goes 4-for-5, Leads Harbor Whales to Win
|
The Greenport Harbor Whales topped the Beaumont Crossbeaus, 7-4, with youngster Millard Blanchard playing a key role. Blanchard was 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once for the Harbor Whales in the win. Greenport reliever Chih-tui Won picked up the win to move to 1-0. Ka-pa Fok suffered the loss. The loss drops Beaumont to 0-2.
In the bottom of the eighth, the Harbor Whales grabbed the lead when Blanchard hit his 1st triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple off Ka-pa Fok made it 7-4, Greenport.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Blanchard told the Greenport Observer.
