Arryns Suffer 4-1 Setback
|
Yucca Valley Yellows starter Curt Stokes turned in a top-notch performance against the Lake Erie Arryns at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. The result was a win for the Yellows, 4-1. Stokes, the winner, moves to 7-9. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 1 walk. Norberto González got credit for the save for Yucca Valley. It was his 5th of the year.
The Yellows benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the first. With Shawn Pittman at bat and Yucca Valley leading 1-0, the Lake Erie miscue allowed Yucca Valley to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Yucca Valley skipper Pat Carrasco.
Yucca Valley has now won 4 in a row.
