The home crowd had a good time watching the Monroeville Yinzers and Lake Erie Arryns get after it.
William Murphy had a good game, but he could not keep the Monroeville Yinzers from falling, 6-3, to the Lake Erie Arryns at Arryns Ballpark. The Monroeville left fielder went 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks in the loss. Katsuhito Goto, the winner, improved to 10-4. He held the Yinzers to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 6.
Bob Fox contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat that helped Lake Erie get the win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Fox said.
Lake Erie is now 50-43, Monroeville 41-52.
