Caterpillars Lose By a Run at Kennesaw, 3-2
|
Kennesaw right fielder Antti-Jussi Sulander helped his team beat the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 3-2. Sulander, who is rated as the 55th best prospect by BNN, went 3 for 5 for the Jets. Kennesaw starter Hideyoshi Sasaki was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-6. The win has Kennesaw at 24-67.
Sulander contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Kennesaw in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Sulander took a changeup from Matt Alister and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Jets to leap in front, 3-1.
In postgame comments to the Kennesaw Daily News, Sulander said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
