The Kent Comets got a strong performance from pitcher Luke Robb, who stymied the Pontiac offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Pontiac Copperdome. Earning his 8th save for Kent was Micheal Ford. Kent has an impressive 58-29 record.

José Silva didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to put Kent on top, 2-0.

"We'll savor this win," Robb told the Kent Observer, "then get ready for the next game."
