Caterpillars Sneak Past Arryns, 6-5
|
Grand Forks beat Lake Erie at Arryns Ballpark, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to right fielder José Organito. He was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Grand Forks reliever José Medina picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ángel Hernández took the loss. The save was credited to Nelson Shaffer, his 16th.
It could have been a different outcome for Grand Forks, had it not been for Arnold Johnston, the 22-year old catcher . Johnston contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Grand Forks up, 6-5.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Johnston.
Grand Forks is now 34-48, Lake Erie 44-38.
