The Lake Erie Arryns withstood an impressive performance by Kent first baseman José Silva to defeat the Comets, 8-3, at Fuller Park. Silva was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Fei Mo was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, with 5 walks and 7 strikeouts. The win puts the Arryns at 44-37, while the Comets drop to 53-28.

The Comets had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Arryns going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old shortstop Armando Soto came to the plate. Soto hit a 2-run triple on a first pitch fastball from Kent hurler Gary Norman. It was Soto's 1st triple of the year.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Soto said.
