Blue Dragons Take Nail-Biter Over Yinzers
|
The Levittown Blue Dragons wiggled past the Monroeville Yinzers, 4-3, at The Cave at Levittown. The win was highlighted by the performance of Levittown pitcher Damien Schmitt. The winner was Levittown reliever Choon-mo Kim, now 1-0. The loser was Ed Jenkins. Levittown has a record of 40-40, placing them 6th in the Silver A.
The Blue Dragons relied on second baseman Jorge Galló for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
Monroeville manager Fred Leos said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
