Huntington and Pontiac got after it at Pontiac Copperdome.

Behind a fine performance from Craig Paynter, the Huntington Hermit Crabs knocked off the Pontiac Godfathers, 10-6. Paynter hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Hermit Crabs. Huntington reliever Dave Davis was the winner. His record is now 6-0. Claudio Aguilar took the loss.

Paynter had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Claudio Aguilar, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Hermit Crabs a 10-6 lead. It was the 22nd home run of the year for Paynter.

"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Huntington manager Mike Evans.
