Red-Hot Godfathers Win 7th Straight
|
Robert Curtis was a major contributor to the 5-3 Pontiac win over Grand Forks. The Godfathers second baseman was 3-4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Pontiac reliever José García picked up the win, while Gareth Hammer took the loss for Grand Forks. Claudio Aguilar was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 20 save opportunities.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Curtis delivered big-time for Pontiac, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Gareth Hammer. The game-changing hit put the Godfathers on top, 5-3.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Pontiac manager Allen Yohemas.
Pontiac raised its record to 39-36 with the win.
