The Levittown Blue Dragons and Huntington Hermit Crabs played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Levittown Blue Dragons starter Damien Schmitt turned in an exceptional performance against the Huntington Hermit Crabs at The Cave at Levittown, resulting in a Levittown win, 3-2. Schmitt went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 4, and struck out 9. His record improves to 4-5. The save went to Carl Rogers, number 7 for him.
Levittown catcher Raúl Miranda contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a curveball into right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 40th hit of the season and put the Blue Dragons ahead, 2-0.
In postgame comments to the Levittown Times, Miranda said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The 6th-place Blue Dragons raised their record to 37-38.
