The Lake Erie Arryns topped the Yucca Valley Yellows, 5-2, in USSL Single A action at Arryns Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Lake Erie pitcher and Dauphin Island, Alabama, native Steve Ward. Ward got the win, improving to 7-7. He allowed 8 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Ward allowed 2 runs. Lake Erie now has a record of 42-33 with the win.

Armando Soto had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Lake Erie. He came through with a 2-run double to put Lake Erie in front, 5-2.
