Godfathers Topple Caterpillars, 6-2, as Cox Shines
|
The Pontiac Godfathers beat the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 6-2, at Pontiac Copperdome. The win was due in part to third baseman Harry Cox, who went 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Ismael Nicacio notched his 1st save in 6 chances. The win puts Pontiac at 38-36 this season.
With Pontiac leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Cox hit a curveball from Callum Rollings for a 2-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Godfathers ahead, 4-1.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Cox.
