Hawks Lose By a Run at South Beach, 7-6
A good performance from left fielder Carlos Delgard helped the South Beach Blaze defeat the Laredo Hawks, 7-6. Delgard went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Blaze. Iiri Lahti came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. Byron Cramphorn finished the game for South Beach and earned his 5th save.

Delgard had a timely hit for South Beach in the bottom of the sixth. With Laredo trailing 5-4, he turned a 1-1 fastball into a bases-clearing double. It was his 2nd double of the season, making it 7-5, South Beach.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Delgard.

With the win, South Beach upped its record to 14-11.
