Hermit Crabs Fall to Blue Dragons, 5-2
|
The Levittown Blue Dragons got a stellar performance from pitcher Matthew Rentería, who handcuffed the Huntington offense en route to a win, 5-2, at The Cave at Levittown. Carl Rogers, credited with the save, is now 6 for 11 in save opportunities. The 'W' lifts Levittown's record to 36-37.
In the bottom of the fourth, Levittown third baseman William Shepard had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Shepard stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 2-0, Levittown. For the game, he was 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs.
"Matthew -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Blue Dragons manager Terry King. "He was the key to us winning."
