Leroux Hits 2 home runs in Hawks Win
|
The Laredo Hawks beat the Idaho Falls Chukars, 6-2, at Hawks Field. Luc Leroux, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The winning pitcher was George Butler. He's now 3-0. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits for the Hawks. The win gives Laredo a record of 12-6.
Leroux contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Laredo in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Leroux took a curveball from Timo Reinhardt and stroked the home run to left. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Hawks to leap in front, 3-1.
"I felt good up there," said Leroux. "I saw the ball well."
