Comets Handle Yellows, 5-2

The Kent Comets picked up a win at Ballpark of Yucca Valley, knocking off the Yucca Valley Yellows, 5-2. On the mound for Kent was right-hander Luke Robb, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning pitcher was Robb, now 7-2. He tossed 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 5. Shang-de Rang earned the save, his 3rd, for the Comets.
Kent took a 5-2 lead on José Silva's 14th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Yucca Valley pitcher Rizal Barerra in the top of the ninth.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Silva told the Kent Observer.
The second-place Yellows have dropped 4 straight games.
