White Walkers Sneak By Lighthouse, 7-6
|
The Buffalo White Walkers beat the Long Island Lighthouse, 7-6, at The Lighthouse. Buffalo third baseman Tetsu Matsumoto had an outstanding performance. He went 3 for 8 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Cisco García got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Bobby Taylor earned the save for Buffalo, his 1st.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Tokaji Mizuno came to bat in the top of the 17th. Facing Long Island pitcher Felipe Deleón, he hit a 1-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Buffalo on top, 7-6.
"We take it day by day here," said Matsumoto, "and today was a good one for us."
The hot start continues for the defending champion White Walkers. This was their 8th win in 11 games.
