Fans watched the Lake Erie Arryns and the Yucca Valley Yellows fight to the finish.
In a low-scoring contest, Lake Erie pitcher Mario Méndez was marvelous in his team's 2-1 win. Lake Erie occupies 5th place in the Silver A at 28-26.
Méndez, who was born in San Miguel, El Salvador, threw 112 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing no runs.
"This was a tough loss," said Yucca Valley manager Pat Carrasco. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
