Echo Park Bats Go Silent in 5-0 Loss
|
Seattle got a strong outing from Byron Joe as the Rocketeers defeated the Echo Park Lakers, 5-0, at LA Forum. Joe, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Seattle has a record of 3-6.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Rocketeers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the second, when left fielder Vicente Torres hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Jordan Calhoun and made the score 2-0, Rocketeers. Torres went 2-5 with 2 singles.
"Feels good to get the job done," Torres said after the game.
