The Pontiac Godfathers defeated the Delmarva Gallos, 9-2, in USSL Single A action at The Cage. Pontiac pitcher Ray Wright had a standout performance. The Godfathers now own a record of 23-27.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Steve Whitfield? The Pontiac catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Godfathers on top, 2-0. For the game, Whitfield had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I thought we played a nice game," Wright told the Pontiac Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
