Fakhir Excels, But Arryns Win
Kent got a terrific game from right fielder Ziad Fakhir. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Lake Erie, 10-5. Fakhir went 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Steve Ward got the win, improving to 5-5. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. The victory gives Lake Erie a record of 26-24.

Jeffrey Sparks had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Lake Erie. He came through with a bases-clearing double to put Lake Erie in front, 6-2.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Sparks. "And not try to do too much."
