|
Thatcher Lambert made an impact in the 8-5 Huntington win over Kennesaw. Lambert, who is tied for 8th in the SA with a .382 on-base percentage, went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Huntington pitcher John Noble got the win. He's now 5-4. Lex Aerts was tagged with the loss. Rex Davis finished to wrap up his 11th save.
In the bottom of the second, Huntington shortstop Jesús Tavárez had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Tavárez stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 2-0, Huntington. For the game, he went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Tavárez told the Huntington Daily News.
Huntington now has a record of 27-22 with the win.
