The Pontiac Godfathers got a superb performance from right fielder Naomichi Kodo, but the Kent Comets still won the game, 8-7. Kodo was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Micheal Ford closed the door for Kent, picking up his 4th save of the year. With the win, Kent raised its record to 36-11.

Kent took a 6-5 lead on Kane Blackwood's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Blackwood hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Pontiac pitcher Ismael Nicacio visibly frustrated.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Blackwood.
