Yellows Snatch Late Win
|
The Pontiac Godfathers got a superb performance from pitcher Paul Allen. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Yucca Valley. The Yellows won the game, 4-2. Allen threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Yucca Valley reliever David Ferguson picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Dale Bailey was tagged with the loss. Javier Rúbio earned save number 6 this season.
Kuniyuki Sato, the 22-year old third baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Sato contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the eighth inning to put Yucca Valley up, 3-2.
"Feels good to get the job done," Sato said after the game.
With the victory, the Yellows upped their record to 26-17.
