Rocketeers Rally For 4-2 Win
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Seattle Rocketeers got the win.
The Echo Park Lakers got a superb performance from pitcher Stanley Davis. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Seattle. The Rocketeers won the game, 4-2. Davis threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Billy Richardson, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. Picking up the save was Scott Alexander, his 1st.
Seattle used the clutch hitting of Dong-young Won to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Rocketeers the lead, 3-2. For the game, Won had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Won said after the game.
The win lifts Seattle to a record of 2-6.
