In a low-scoring tilt between the Lake Erie Arryns and the Yucca Valley Yellows, Mario Méndez was the difference-maker. The Lake Erie right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Méndez went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 6, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-3. Ángel Hernández recorded the save for Lake Erie, his 12th of the season.
Bob Fox had a key at-bat with two out in the bottom of the third for Lake Erie. With the bases loaded and the Arryns leading 1-0, he hit a 2-run single.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Pat Carrasco.
The Arryns are now 17-18, while the Yellows fall to 20-15.
