Jets Lose By a Run at Monroeville, 3-2
|
Dragoons War Memorial Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Monroeville Yinzers and Kennesaw Jets.
The Monroeville Yinzers topped the Kennesaw Jets by a score of 3-2. Leading the way was pitcher Júlio Castillo. Castillo threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the Yinzers. Kasper Figueroa came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.
Luis Flores was 1-3 for Monroeville. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joey Martin. It was his 15th RBI of the season.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Castillo.
The Yinzers raised their record to 15-19.
