Dobbs Excels, But Yinzers Win
|
The Monroeville Yinzers overcame a good performance by Huntington designated hitter James Dobbs to knock off Huntington, 5-4, at The Shell. Dobbs went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Gerald Currer locked down his 3rd save. Monroeville, at 14-18, sits in 7th place in the Silver A.
Monroeville relied on the hitting of William Murphy to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Yinzers on top, 3-0. For the game, Murphy had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Murphy said.
