Comets Reel Off Another Win
|
The Kent Comets beat the Huntington Hermit Crabs, 9-3, at The Shell. The win was due in part to first baseman Rick MacIlleriach, who was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Luke Robb, the winning pitcher, is now 3-0. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 6 hits, while fanning 9 and walking 2. Kent has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Comets had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the second, when center fielder Ernie Lewis hit a 2-run single. The single came off Mark Hodge and made the score 4-0, Comets. Lewis went 1-5. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
