Storm Park hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
Syracuse rode a fine outing from starter Roberto Luna to victory over the Mancelona Torch at Storm Park. The final score was 2-1. The winner was Syracuse reliever Alejandro Colón, now 2-0. The loser was Miguel Murillo.
Syracuse took a 2-1 lead on Fernando Chávez's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Mancelona pitcher Miguel Murillo in the bottom of the eighth.
"I believe in our guys," said Syracuse skipper Harris Bailey. "I like the energy they're playing with."
The winning streak has now reached 12 games for the Storm.
