Yucca Valley starter Lee tai hoi Chen pitched well against the Kent Comets at Ballpark of Yucca Valley. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. In 8 innings, Chen surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Edemona Babitu.
Yucca Valley took a 4-3 lead on Shawn Pittman's 5th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Pittman hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Kent pitcher Micheal Ford visibly frustrated.
"I like what I saw today," said Yucca Valley manager Pat Carrasco, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
Kent is 11-3 after the defeat.
