The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
The Alameda Airmen did just enough to sneak past the Washington Generals, 1-0, at Alameda Field. Alameda pitcher Andy Foster, in particular, had a standout performance. Alameda pitcher Rich Cheyney got the win. He's now 3-5. Augusto Rey was tagged with the loss.
Luca Norona was the walk-off hero for Alameda. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Airmen third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I had everything working," said Foster.
Alameda is 46-42 and Washington, with the loss, 43-45.
