Blue Dragons Deal Arryns 4-2 Defeat
|
Levittown picked up a win at Arryns Ballpark, bumping off the Lake Erie Arryns, 4-2. Pitcher Doug Santamarina was a major reason the Blue Dragons emerged victorious. Santamarina, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Earning his 5th save for Levittown was Rodger Asmus.
It could have been a different outcome for Levittown, had it not been for Cai-fei Sung, the 21-year old shortstop . Sung contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Levittown up, 3-2.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Santamarina.
The Blue Dragons, now 10-3, have played inspired baseball.
