River Rats Lose By a Run at Syracuse, 6-5
Syracuse and Columbia duked it out and the Storm came out victorious.

The Syracuse Storm defeated the Columbia River Rats, 6-5, at Storm Park today. Leading the charge for Syracuse was catcher Leonard Allen. He went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times. Syracuse pitcher Caden Hickman got the win, upping his record to 7-5. Ichiro Kumagai got the loss. Barry van den Hombergh closed the door for Syracuse, picking up his 5th save of the year.

Eugene Higgins helped out the Syracuse cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"It feels good to get this one," Higgins told the Syracuse Observer.

After today's action, Syracuse sits at 40-42, while Columbia falls to 43-39.
